Dr. Bernard A. Harris, Jr. MD, President and CEO, Vesalius Ventures, Inc. is a retired NASA space shuttle astronaut who uses his experiences as as astronaut and as an African American growing up as an during the civil rights movement to discuss five missions for leaders. In this presentation courtesy of the CIO Leadership Network, Harris details five missions for leaders with references to Star Trek, Apollo 13, his space walk and other experiences:

  • A leader must “rise above”
  • A leader must be inspired and inspire
  • A leader must do something challenging
  • Leadership requires risk
