With new privacy laws and a thriving black market for personal information, Intel determined that selective encryption of notebook computer files was no longer sufficient. To mitigate the risks, we implemented full disk encryption as an additional layer of security. This paper describes the business rationale, the software-based solution, and the plan Intel IT developed to help ensure a smooth and secure implementation.
