A fairly useless briefing. I could have read the same thing in a million places on the web or the nearest magazine stand.
Disappointing. Where is the comparisons with x64 (Xeon) and IA-64 (Itanium)? With Microsoft’s focus on standardizing on 64-bit from now on, an x86 whitepaper has decreasing value.
This was an interesting piece. But it gave no recommendations on what was the right hardware. But it has some good information.
ZZZZZzzzzzzzzz…
Now that I am bored to death I can sell a body part to pay for a whole 8GB of addressing space and a neato V-CPU that won’t run the latest virtualization software in a few years.
I agree with Bruce. This “exclusively available” white paper is not worth the time to login in order to read it.
Note that this report is a “summary” and that the full report from IDC is pending. We will post a release date for the full report once we are notified.
Next time, please wait until the full report is available before posting the content.
I can get more information from the cover of any magazine on the shelf.
