The Consumerization of IT

Because our knowledge workers are also consumers of digital technology, our user experiences create new opportunities for innovation, enabling what we call the consumerization of IT.  “Digital natives”, who grew up surrounded by computers, MP3 players, mobile phones, and all the applications that go with them, are trendsetters and trend predictors.  They pick up on innovations and enthusiasm for them, advocating and using new technologies long before they catch on in the mainstream. This Intel Premier IT magazine article examines the ways Intel IT empowers these digital natives to conribute to the consumerization of IT and become enablers of new ideas.
