Georgian College of Canada Achieves 1,350% ROI Over Four Years Across Seven Campuses

In late 2008, Georgian College of Canada began refreshing systems with desktop PCs with Intel® Core™2 processor with vPro™ technology and notebooks with Intel® Centrino® with vPro™ technology. The college then studied the return on investment (ROI) realized by deploying the PCs across their nine sites. Delivering Virtualization Benefits by Refreshing Client PCs

In Intel IT tests, a laptop PC based on Intel® Centrino® 2 with vPro™ technology running a virtualized client environment performed up to 125 percent faster than a three-year-old native-mode system due for refresh. Results suggest that new platforms that include faster processors with Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT) can eliminate concerns about client virtualization performance.
